Q: How Can I Request to be on the same team as someone else?

This applies to House League only.  During registration, include the first and last name of the player your child would like to have on their team.  Note that both players must request each other and requests are limited to 1 name per player.  In the event both players do not request each other, they may be placed on different teams.  If a request is necessary post-registration, submit to admin@rockwoodfc.com.

Q: When does the season start?

For competitive programs, training will start in the fall, usually in early November.

For house league, the season typically starts late May.

Q: When will I hear from someone?

Q: What equipment does my child need?

This is dependent on your child's age and in what program they are participating.

Refer to the Programs page for more specific details on the required equipment, but here's a quick overview (subject to change):

U2 & U3
  • Mandatory: Running shoes
    • We do not recommend soccer cleats for this age
  • Optional: Shin guards
U4 to U8
  • Mandatory: Shin guards; and running shoes or soccer cleats
U9 to U21
  • Mandatory: Shin guards and soccer cleats
    • Running shoes are not allowed

Other equipment such as shirt, shorts and socks, will be provided to players as part of registration fees.  This is dependent on the program, so please refer to the program details for more info.

Q: What happens if it's rainy?

Outdoor programs will run rain or shine, except when significant rainfall has occurred.

  • On weekdays, field closures are handled by Guelph-Eramosa Township.
  • For weekends and after-hours, a judgement call will be made by program leaders.
  • For league games, the referee has the final say on whether the game (and field) is playable based on the current conditions.

All outdoor activities will strictly adhere to the "30 Minute Rule".  When thunder/lightning occurs, all players and spectators must immediately leave the area to a safe location.  Only after a full 30 minutes has passed with no further thunder/lightning may the activity resume.  The moment another thunder/lightning event occurs, the time resets back to 30 minutes.

Any program cancellations due to weather will be communicated on the Rockwood FC website, and also through an email notification to membership.

Guelph-Eramosa Township sports field status can be found here.
