Rockwood FC- Who Are We?

Rockwood FC has been a community fixture since 1970’s. Rockwood FC is a not-for-profit community club with a strong history of volunteerism, dedicated to providing a great soccer program for all ages- from our new, innovative U3 program to U18 and beyond. Like many other groups over the last few months we have faced unprecedented challenges but our rep programming has returned to the pitch and we are busy planning for houseleague and summer travel league 2021.

Last winter Coach Erick and Coach Brianna provided programming in school gyms -we are currently unable to do this until the schools are cleared for community use—and we are able to offer in a safe, sustainable way.

In spring 2020, based on the evolving Covid pandemic and the member survey, we cancelled all house league and travel league programming. Rep and Elite Programming was able to return to the pitch in a limited capacity. Rockwood FC fully refunded all for programs or sections of programs that were cancelled.

Our Executive and Staff have remained hard at work maintaining communications with our members, attending meetings and wading our way through immense amounts of legislation and information produced by the Province of Ontario and Ontario Soccer.

We are planning for a return to the pitch for summer season 2021 and need volunteers to make this happen. I would also like to thank all those who are unpaid- the volunteers, including Rockwood FC Executive, who have made soccer possible for the players in the past!

Who am I?

I am a parent like you- I have volunteered with the club since 1998. I have been a coach, manager, equipment manager, uniform manager, head ref, convenor, tournament coordinator, camp coordinator, league rep, field scheduler, ref scheduler, web master, board member and VP. I have met a lot of great people and learned a lot about soccer(more than I thought I wanted to know 🙂 ).

As soccer in our community continues to evolve-the club needs new volunteers, including Executive/Board members to take it into the next exciting phase. Rockwood FC needs you!

Please take the time to look the volunteer positions listed below and contact Lori Meek admin@rockwoodfc.com to find out how you can give of your time and talents. Volunteers help keep soccer affordable for all and is a great way to create community.
