Welcome to Saturday Morning Soccer

U6B

**Please consider volunteering as your child’s coach for this season **

TIME:

SATURDAYS 11AM-12NOON

Please note that due to Covid restrictions time may change

LOCATION:

Rockmosa Park, 110 Rockmosa Drive, Rockwood – Large Field closest to splash pad

WHEN:

The season starts the last Saturday in May and runs until Mid August(excluding July and August long weekends) with a fun day on the last day.

PRACTISE/GAME:

Each player will be placed on a team with volunteer coaches.  Each week after the practice portion, they will participate in a game against another team from the same age group.

Teams practise and play on the same day.

Practice time/skills development – all players have a ball supplied for practise.  2K Soccer, a soccer development company run by former pro Aaron Kerr, has designed a training program  that will introduce them to basic soccer concepts – parents are welcome to participate! The coach volunteers participate in working with their teams.

5 min – break for water and get over to game field

20 min – game – in accordance with Long Term Player Development U6 play 3v3 with no goal keeper-meaning more playing time, more ‘touches’ for each player with the ball during a game atmosphere.   We do not keep scores – the players are all encouraged to have fun and the only rules  enforced are which direction to run and reminders of “feet only”.

Equipment

Shin guards are mandatory equipment for your player. Please ensure that you have them with you each week – as your player will not be allowed to participate if they do not have them. Players must wear running shoes or soccer cleats.  Registration includes a full soccer uniform – team jersey, shorts and socks .

Jewelry

For safety,  all jewelry, with the exception of medical alert bracelets and necklaces, must be removed prior to soccer, including piercings. Activity Trackers or ‘Fit Bits’ may not be worn.

Uniforms

Uniforms  will be handed out on the first day when players will meet their coaches and participate in an abbreviated program.
