THE 2021 SOCCER SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE

Well, it has been quite the soccer summer!!!! Covid-19 presented many challenges to Rockwood FC but, thanks to many people, we were able to get Rockwood FC youth on to the soccer fields. A special thanks go out to the following:

  • Sherol Steinberg and Kim Ripley – Board members who put in thousands of hours to ensure RFC soccer happened in 2020 – without their leadership, Rockwood soccer would not have happened this summer
  • Briana Ripley – who stepped up to run a great U4 – U6 Saturday soccer program as well as running 4 summer soccer camps and coaching the U8 H/L teams
  • Aaron (Azza) Kerr – the RFC Technical Director who, in spite of umpteen Covid restrictions, ensured the RFC Elite soccer program happened
  • Sean Clarke – the RFC Rep Co-ordinator, who ensured the RFC Rep program got off the ground and ran smoothly
  • RFC Volunteers – the many team coaches and managers who supported all of the RFC House League and Rep/Elite teams through a challenging season
  • Lori Meek and Lori Roth – our RFC Administrator and Registrar/Bookkeeper – their efforts were crucial in the behind the scenes support

We, your Board, recognize that not everything went exactly to plan but we made every effort to ensure that we maximized the soccer output for all of our players and we hope that you understood and appreciated that.

Your Board is now preparing for the 2021/2022 soccer season. We believe that next year should see a return to a more normal situation.

  • Tryouts are shortly underway for Elite and Rep competitive soccer
  • The RFC Annual General meeting is scheduled for Dec. 6th at 7.00pm
  • 2022 House League information will be communicated by Nov. 1st

We are excited about next year and we look forward to all of you returning to enjoy another fun-filled RFC soccer season

Best Wishes

The RFC Board
