After 8 happy years with the RFC I am sad to say I will not be returning for the 2022/23 season as I have decided to return to Ireland.
While I will always focus more on the times I have failed as a coach I feel confident that the experience we have given the hundreds of players we have worked with has been a positive one and I hope the players will view their time under my guidance with fond memories.
Since joining RFC, we have built a successful competitive soccer program with our teams winning league championships and tournaments. I truly hope that our players will continue on their soccer journey with RFC and will return for next year’s season.
I would like to give my unreserved thanks to the board, in particular, Stephen, Sherol and Kim. It hasn’t always been easy for them to deal with my shenanigans but they stood behind my plans for the program and allowed me the opportunity to coach the way I wanted to.
The good news is that RFC has hired my replacement, Gareth Davies. Gareth is an outstanding coach and trainer and has worked extensively with Oakville Soccer Club, North America’s largest amateur soccer club. He’s younger, better qualified, not as good looking but incredibly talented and will without doubt take you all to the next level.
Once again, thank you the privilege of working with all of you and I hope to see you all again in the future
